October's Behind Us

This is a quilt made by my friend Carol Culbert.  She asked me to machine quilt it for her.  I just chose something simple that would blurrrr the straight lines.  I like the way it turned out.

Our guild this month challenged us to make a stocking.  Since I don't like to be too traditional I found this really different Christmas fabric in Arrowhead when I was on retreat.  The flowers were made by my new Kawansi tool and two antique buttons that came from....I don't know where, lol.  I think we are supposed to  stuff it, but we'll see ;]

Added a little flange to my binding on this t-shirt quilt.  Added a little je ne sais quoi.

I'm in the mood to get some projects done before I start any new ones.  Strange I know, but you gotta go with your gut!

Hope you all got a chance to sew this weekend!  ~Love Aunti

  1. Well done! Wish I could energize myself in the evening to do guild!

  2. Good pictures. I like the quilting on Carol's quilt, the back looks great.
Your stocking turned out so elegant! Woo Hoo! I like it!
I am kinds of muddling around in the quilt room presently. Don't have too much ambition. I have almost finished the Simplify block, have to add the red wooden beads you gave me. Will probably not make it a pillow, but quilt it into a small wallhanging. That's pretty Simple, I would say.
I have to put borders on my black/white/red quilt and on the bright batik and black quilt and my creative juices are a little stuck. But, since I don't have anything to take to my quilting machine, I need to get cracking!

  3. Love the quilting on your plaid quilt! I read that someone made a plaid quilt and called it the "Pizza Quilt" was made for a newlywed guy so he wouldn't use the Wedding Quilt to eat pizza on! Cute, huh?!

I would love to hear from you
